London in Autumn
London is stunning in autumn with the leaves changing colour and a brilliant blue sky.
Imogen has enjoyed finding conkers, splashing in puddles and collecting different coloured leaves. Squirrel spotting is also an essential part of our daily walk in the park.
I’ve found the cooler weather has called for heartier foods and this week we’ve been enjoying Leek and Potato Soup and Pastry Free Vegetable Quiche.

Baby Art
Baby art is great fun and a wonderful way for your baby to express their imagination and creativity. Imogen started playing with crayons and paper at 10 months old and from around 12 months of age drawing has become part of her every day play.
Here are a couple of my favourite drawings by Imogen at 18 months. Imogen said she was drawing Mama, Dada, Roooar (Lion), Mi Mi (one of our cats), Moon and Bear.
This drawing looks like hearts and roses, especially with the red and pink colours Imogen’s chosen.
Baby art is simple and fun.
We use:
- 24 Crayola brightly coloured and easy to hold crayons (as of yesterday we’re down one as it ended up as a melted block in our tumble dryer)! Crayola Beginnings Jumbo Crayons
- Crayola jumbo pencils, they’re easy for a baby to hold and smooth to draw with on paper, requiring less pressure than some crayons Crayola Beginnings Jumbo Pencils
If you’re looking for wonderful arts and crafts ideas for slightly older children head over to Red Ted Art where there’s plenty of great crafty activities to choose from.
London Zoo
We had a fantastic family day out at London Zoo and Imogen loved seeing all the animals.
Imogen carried her favourite toy Tiger everywhere and the expression on her face when she saw a real tiger was magical. The monkey house was amazing with monkeys swinging above our heads.
Imogen’s wearing her cute Laura Ashley hat and gloves. Her Heart & Dog Print Gilet is from the Marks & Spencer Kids Clothing range and is practical and warm on cooler days.
This tiger ride was perfect for Imogen!
We weren’t the only ones who were super tired by the end of the day!
One of my favourite parts of London Zoo was the Butterfly Paradise exhibit. We walked into an area full of butterflies and moths flying freely from Africa, South-east Asia, Central and South America. It was an incredible experience as we became a part of their environment.
