Easton Farm Park
We spent a wonderful day at Easton Farm Park when we were on holiday in Suffolk recently.
Easton Farm Park is located near Woodbridge. To get there we drove through beautiful winding country roads, forests and farmland.
There’s a wide range of farm animals for children to see and feed including pigs, rabbits, chickens, goats and horses.
Imogen loved the tractors that are available for children to ride on. She couldn’t reach the pedals so Mummy and Daddy had fun driving her around the farm!
We all rode on a pony and cart which was a delightful experience for Imogen, being her first experience of a pony.
It was wonderful to see Imogen relate to the farm animals. We’ve read plenty of books with stories about farm animals and tractors so Easton Farm Park really brought this alive.
Easton Farm Park is very well organised with timed events giving families the ability to enjoy everything the farm has to offer.
The train ride is lots of fun for parents and children. It took us around the animal yard and past some of the horses in the paddocks.
And if you get caught by rain, as we did, there’s a large soft play centre for babies and children that includes a soft swing, ball pits and slides.
The outdoor play area has swings, slides and a flying fox for older children.
There are pony rides and hug a bunny sessions. Imogen desperately wanted to ride a pony when she saw the older children on them. We compromised and she happily settled for wearing a riding hat whilst watching the children ride the ponies!
It was a great day out and we’ll be sure to go back next time we’re in Suffolk.
Where’s your favourite family farm park?
Orford Castle
Today we returned to Orford Castle, a distinct and unique polygonal tower keep in Orford.
Orford Castle dates back to the 12th century and considering the age of this tower keep, it’s in great condition.
From 1 April to 4 November 2012 you can visit Orford Castle every day of the week from 10am to 5pm.
There’s a wide selection of family friendly places to eat in Orford. We like the Pump Street Bakery, The Jolly Sailor and Ruth Watson’s The Crown and Castle.
You can discover more on Orford Castle at English Heritage.
Brio Duck Review
We have been lucky enough to receive a beautiful wooden Brio Duck to review from Hello Baby Direct.
My baby, Imogen, has always loved ducks.
One of the first baby signs she made was the quack quack sign when she saw a duck in the local pond.
Since then we’ve bought story books with bright yellow duck characters and rubber ducks for playing in the bath.
But we’ve never had a duck toy until the pull along Brio Duck.
Imogen’s face lit up the moment she saw the box with the photographs of the yellow, white and red duck on the sides. She knew what was hiding in that box!
And when it came out of the box there were squeals of excitement as we pulled the Brio Duck along our wooden floor and it shook it’s head from side to side and flapped it’s yellow wings.
Playing with the Brio Duck has really helped Imogen in the early stages of learning to walk, promoting balance and motor skills.
At 15 months Imogen is now very stable on her feet and running around, with the Brio Duck never far behind, quacking at the pleasure of being such a loved toy.
As with all Brio wooden toys, this is a quality toy that will last the test of time and is beautifully crafted.
You can purchase the Brio Duck pull along wooden toy at Hello Baby Direct.
