What I Wore Wednesday

| March 6, 2013

It’s Wednesday so here’s a look at what I wore when we were out and about in London’s financial district Canary Wharf this week.

The day was beautiful and sunny despite being a little chilly, quite a shock to the system after the hot summer we’ve just had on holiday in New Zealand. I was pleased to have a reason for wearing sunglasses as I’m still bleary eyed from jetlag and sleepless nights.

Hubby and I were shopping for Imogen’s birthday celebration next week. She loved having her photo taken, just look at that cheeky expression!

I’m wearing:
Ted Baker Sunglasses – NZ Wool Scarf – Gap Trench Coat – Kookai Stripe Top – Gap Pink Jeans – Laura Ashley Handbag – Clarks Black Leather Boots (previously written about here)

Imogen’s wearing:
Gap Hat – Polarn O. Pyret Fleece Jacket – Laura Ashley Jumper – Leggings (from NZ) – Clarks Baby Shoes

Hugs from Clara Vulliamy

| February 7, 2013

Clara Vulliamy is a talented writer and illustrator of children’s books. Her range of books include Martha and the Bunny Brothers, Muffin, The Bear with Sticky Paws and Lucky Wish Mouse. One of our favourites is Martha and the Bunny Brothers with the delightful character Martha her younger brothers Monty and Pip.

National Hug Day is celebrated on 21 January and Clara shared illustrations of Martha, Monty and Pip enjoying different hugs in her post Happy National Hugs Day.

I’m an avid reader of Clara’s blog and responded to her suggestion for a new hug with the idea of a ‘pet’ hug. Clara kindly illustrated a bright and cheerful hug with Martha and Paws.

When we return to London I’m going to frame this superb illustration and hang it in Imogen’s nursery as a reminder of the importance of hugs with our loved ones each and every day.

You can view Clara’s beautiful illustrations and find out more about her books and fun arty things to do at Clara’s blog Sunny Side Up! And if you’re like us and are fans of Martha and the Bunny Brothers there’s also a Happy Bunny Club for your children to join.

Clarks Mara Sand GTX Boots

| December 10, 2012

For over a month I’ve been wearing a pair of Clarks Mara Sand GTX Boots. These gorgeous black leather Gore-tex boots were kindly sent to me by Clarks to review.

As a busy Mum I’m out and about daily with my baby so footwear has to look great, be practical and most importantly offer comfort.

Despite the weather I love walking and enjoying the great outdoors. For exercise and pleasure I walk everywhere in London with my baby in her buggy or toddling alongside me. For several hours each day we pound the pavements and run around the many parks and green spaces.

Clarks Mara Sand GTX Boots are styled on the classic long-leg riding boot. There’s subtle stitching on the boots and a simple buckle strap that can be adjusted at the top of the boots. The leather is soft and has a great shine.

One of the best features of the Clarks Mara Sand GTX Boots is that they’re 100% waterproof and breathable. Made with a Gore-tex membrane they prevent moisture from penetrating whilst letting perspiration out, allowing my feet to breathe and preventing them from overheating.

I’ve found this combination creates the perfect environment for maximum comfort and the right temperature whether I’m walking in a busy shopping mall or outdoors.

Clarks Mara Sand GTX Boots look great with trousers or skirts and can be dressed up or down making them extremely wearable for all occasions. They’re smart, stylish and incredibly comfortable.

Regardless of rain or snow this winter my feet will be kept dry and I’ll be enjoying all the elements. You can find out more about the technology used with Clarks Gore-tex waterproof shoes and boots.
