Aldeburgh Beach
We spent a day in Aldeburgh recently and made the most of the sunshine. Imogen loved sifting through the pebbles on Aldeburgh beach. A trip to the seaside is not quite the same without the mandatory bucket and spade, even if there is no sand in sight.
Mummy and Imogen desperately trying to make a sandcastle with pebbles.
Admiring the pebbles.
A fishing boat rocks from side to side surrounded by hungry seagulls.
Taking a break from pebble throwing and looking out to sea to see what we can see.
Family Day Out in Whitstable
When we discovered the forecast was for 26 degrees we knew we had to get to the beach. Imogen loves the seaside and it’s been a few months since our last beach adventures in New Zealand and France.
We decided to have a family day out in Whitstable, Kent. It’s roughly a one hour drive from where we live in London. I find that just getting out of London feels like a mini holiday and we certainly packed enough to make it feel like we were going away for a few days! We love being close to nature and visiting the beach for a day was great fun.
The Whitstable Fish Market by the quay was open and selling a variety of fresh seafood.
We found an Oyster Shell Recycling point where used oyster shells are deposited to help re-establish oyster beds for the future.
A collection of beach treasure.
Imogen and Mummy on the beach playing with shells and spades.
Daddy finds a crab in the shallow rockpools and Imogen watches it closely.
Benodet Brittany
Whilst we were staying in the idyllic Frenchberry Kistinic Gatehouse near Quimper we took the opportunity to visit the coastal town of Benodet.
Benodet is located in Finistere in southwest Brittany and is less than a 30 minute drive from Quimper. This truly beautiful seaside resort is perfect for families and I thoroughly recommend a visit if you are in this region of Brittany.
The beach is pristine with crystal clear water and the sea is dotted with boats.
The shallow and calm water is great for children who want to swim in the sea.
Imogen loved the sunshine and playing in the sand and water.
Mummy and Daddy helped to build sandcastles.
Breton architecture adorns the coast with houses benefiting from the sea view.
