A Visit to the Tower of London

| April 18, 2013

We visited the incredible Tower of London this week. It holds such history and there’s a great sense of the importance and presence of the Tower in its prominent location by the River Thames.

Daddy and Imogen exploring by the Tower of London.

Tower of London

Tower Bridge opened in 1894 and is near to the Tower of London. It took eight years to build this iconic bridge that spans the Thames.

  1. Hubby used to live in London so I’ve been there a fair bit in the past but haven’t taken the boys there yet. Love the buzz around its historic tourist attractions and looks like you had a lovely day captured in some lovely pics.

I’m sure your boys will love it when you take them there 🙂 There are always plenty of people around, even early in the morning!

  2. I drove past that the other day and said to hubs “Wow that hotel looks awesome”. Bit of a facepalm moment.

A proper castle for the kids to enjoy! My sister lives round the corner and we l love to visit the Tower when we are up with her. Thankyou for sharing your day on Country Kids.

    • Lydia says:

That’s amazing that your sister lives so close to the Tower! It must be wonderful to be so close to the heart of London when you visit her.

  4. I recently moved away from London after being there for the last 17 years. We did a couple of final trips in to town before relocating but didn’t see the Tower! Quite funny really as we did every other landmark in London. Photo’s are great though. I love the mix of old and new x

You are a true Londoner after 17 years! How is your relocation going? I’ve been in London for 10 years now, time certainly flies. We have plans to move from the City in the next couple of years. x

lovely pics, i would love to visit but we dont seem to plan it in x

We love to walk along the Thames so you can see the Tower up close but avoid the queues to get into the Tower! x

Beautiful pictures! The Tower of London is awesome but there are some parts of it which are a bit spooky. After all it was a prison in the first place. Besides the Jewels of the Crown there are some really interesting exhibitions inside (like the one about the armors if you like history).

🙂 I love everything which is close to the river. I don’t know why but I am especially attracted by Greenwich. I don’t know what’s so special about that place but every time I go there I just feel so contented and at home. Another place (in fact 2 places) that I really enjoy are Kew Gardens and Richmond. The river there is also beautiful and it’s perfect for a nice day out!

London is just beautiful! The fact is I miss it too much. I’ve also lived there for 15 years.
