Our Cats Louis and Mia

| October 25, 2013

I simply cannot live without pets. I adore animals, especially cats. My entire life I have grown up with cats and dogs. And whilst I love dogs, our life in central London just won’t accommodate one. Don’t tell hubby, I’m waiting until we move to the country…

Our cats Louis and Mia were rescued by Celia Hammond’s Animal Trust when they were kittens after being dumped in a cardboard box. I’ve written about them here and with my earlier cats Molly and Coco. Despite Louis being larger than Mia I still sometimes get them mixed up, they’re so alike. These photos show the similarities in their mannerisms, both are absolutely divine and ever so smoochy!

  1. Aw they are gorgeous. I would love a cat or a dog, we had a beautiful cat before our biggest daughter was born but he was a house cat and had to be rehomed as he kept jumping in our daughter’s crib. It was for the best but we think about him often.

You did the right thing and I can imagine how much you miss him. If we had a bit more space we’d end up with a menagerie. I’m glad we have Mudchute Farm so close x

  2. Charlotte says:

I love them! They are so cute! Perfect for Halloween too! :0) Thanks for mentioning our new addition! x x

You’re welcome! I was so impressed with your cute Hermann Tortoise. Two black cats for Halloween, I just need a broom and witches outfit now! 🙂 x

  3. Beautiful photos – wishing I could laze in the sunshine like Louis, he looks pretty comfortable, and also deep in thought!

She is really beautiful – love her eyes.

We rescued out cats from Celia Hammond also! We don’t know much of our cats back story tho. Both your two look very much alike! Identical twins? I also grew up surrounded by pets and me and my husband jumped at the chance to get some cats of our own when we moved in together.

    Lovely magic moments.

It’s so lovely to meet someone else with rescue cats from Celia Hammond’s Animal Trust 🙂 Our first cat from Celia’s was an elderly cat we named Coco and she was just beautiful, we had three very precious years with her xxx

  6. Oooh they’re gorgeous! We have two rescue cats from Celia Hammond’s, Hercules and Iggy Pop. We’ve also just started feeding a street cat who we’ve named Billy, he’s black like your two, I just love black cats.

Celia is amazing isn’t she. Have been meaning to do a post about them, as really should do more to support her and the charity’s work. Walking round that sanctuary choosing which cat/s to take is heartbreaking. I’ll schedule a post and give your post a mention in it, hope that’s ok.

Hi Luci. How amazing you have Celia Hammond’s rescue cats too 🙂 Mummy Morkus has two as well, which I’ve just found out via this post. I love the names of your cats! So kind of you to be feeding a street cat.

It is heartbreaking walking through the sanctuary and seeing all of the beautiful animals that need re-homing. I wish I could take them all. We had a previous cat, Coco, from Celia’s too. We always choose rescue animals. Please do mention my post, I would love for more people to know about the great work Celia does 🙂 xxx

  12. Gorgeous cats! Sadly, I am allergic to cats, so we won’t have one joining us, but they are beautiful animals xx #WhatstheStory

  13. Beautiful cats! My dog was 17 1/2 years old before passing away last year. As soon as we’re settled in our own place in the future the plan is to immediately have a kitten and puppy join our family!

    • Lydia says:

That is an amazing age for a dog. It’s always so hard losing a family pet. Lovely to hear you’re looking forward to a new addition in the future x
