How to Take the Best Baby Photos

| January 8, 2012

Every time you’re with your little one you’ll want to capture the moment and take the best baby photos.

I’ve been amazed at the speed my baby has grown and developed. Each day she looks slightly different and surprises me with something new.

One of the best ways to capture these memories is with a good quality, easy to use digital camera. This way you can be out and about, running around and still manage to snap away.

The Olympus VR-340 Digital Camerahas outstanding reviews. It’s a slimline camera with a powerful lense and 10x optical zoom. With a 16 megapixel image sensor and HD (720p) movie recording you will always be able to capture and share those special times.

Once you’ve got the right camera, how do you take the best baby photos?

Numerous books have been written on this subject but the two which really stand out for their ease of use (you don’t need any prior knowledge of photography) and lack of technical jargon are:

Both books showcase beautiful photos which provide inspiration for settings.

And if you’re like most time strapped parents, you’ll be wanting to save as much time as possible when transferring your photos from your camera to your computer.

To quickly and easily transfer hundreds of photos from my camera to my computer I use the Integral USB External Memory Card Readerand at around £2 it’s worth it’s weight in gold!

All you need to do is put your memory card into the USB slot of the SD Reader and plug it into a USB port on your computer. It then transfers all photos and videos in a few seconds, directly to your computer. It’s so much faster than transferring them directly from your camera to your computer! Saving you precious time.

The Best Newborn Nappies

| January 7, 2012

Did you know the average baby goes through around 5000 nappies, that’s a lot of nappies!

After trial and error with several brands of nappies, I can thoroughly say the best newborn nappies are Huggies Newborn Nappieswhich are made from organic cotton.

We found Huggies Newborn Nappiesprovided the softest and most comfortable fit for our baby, as well as reducing the chance of leaks.

I used to buy my baby’s nappies from the supermarket, until I discovered you can buy Huggies Nappies from Amazonin bulk at a much reduced price and with free delivery.

Once my baby reached Size 4 nappies we moved into Huggies Super Dry Nappies. They’re superb for going the distance at night time and perfectly fit our very wriggly, almost crawling baby!

If you’re wanting to take your baby swimming Huggies Little Swimmersare the best nappies for use in water. Enjoy splish splash sploshing about without any worry!

The Best Baby Sleeping Bag

| January 5, 2012

If you’re like me, you’ll be extra vigilant at night time to ensure your baby isn’t too hot or too cold. All the do’s and don’ts when it comes to sleeping and adding or taking off additional blankets just leaves me confused and worrying if my baby’s the right temperature.

Luckily, there’s a solution. I’ve discovered the best baby sleeping bags so I can sleep peacefully at night!

I’d always visualised my baby wrapped in blankets when sleeping, but once my baby started to move around in her baby cot I knew it was time to use Baby Sleeping Bags to keep her warm at night and to prevent blankets from covering her head.

Grobag Baby Sleep BagAll I can say is thank goodness for Baby Sleeping Bags! I absolutely love these, I can sleep easy knowing my baby’s warm and the covers won’t go over her head or be kicked off during the night.

I’m a complete and utter convert and use the lighter weight 1.0 tog in summer. My baby has a winter weight sleeping bag (I use 2.5 tog for winter so my baby’s room temperature should still be between 16 – 20 degrees celcius) and a summer weight sleeping bag suitable for spring, summer and autumn.
