Planning a Summer Staycation?

| June 16, 2012

Everyone will tell you that having a baby is life changing.

What also changes is the ability to easily, if at all, book a last minute break to Europe or beyond.

Since having our beautiful baby in March last year, we’ve decided to summer staycation for all but one of our holidays when we ventured to Brittany in France.

We’ve been pleasantly surprised at how easy and fun a staycation is compared with travelling overseas.

Now we look for a family friendly place to stay, open countryside to visit, local farm shops around the corner and all within relatively close proximity to London to ease the driving time for ourselves and baby. We often have family and friends join us when we staycation so being able to select a large self catering holiday home is essential.

There’s nothing better than hiring a cottage in the countryside where we know we will be guaranteed peace, tranquility and the joy of beaches, forests and bridal paths for walking and cycling on our doorstep.

We love being able to have a home away from home and enjoy the simple things in life, especially time together as a family outside our busy London life. We like to cook our own meals, have a BBQ in the garden and visit local pubs within walking distance of our holiday cottage.

We had our first holiday with our baby in Orford and it was truly wonderful. We’re back there soon for another summer staycation and we can’t wait!

Our favourite summer staycation destinations are Norfolk, Suffolk, Devon & Cornwall.

Mummy To Be

| June 3, 2012

Expecting a baby is a truly exhilarating time. As a Mummy To Be I felt happiness, nervousness and great curiosity.

Each day that passed brought me one day closer to being a Mummy and holding my precious baby in my arms.

If it’s your first baby I’m sure you’ll have lots of questions and thoughts running through your mind, just as I did when I was pregnant.

I became a first time Mummy to our beautiful baby girl in 2011 and being a Mummy is absolutely the best thing in the world.

My advice to help make your journey through pregnancy relaxing, healthy and fun:

The Best Pregnancy Skin Care

| March 4, 2012

Here are some of the best pregnancy skin care products you can use. When I was pregnant I discovered these natural and organic skin care and beauty products.

I simply can’t live without these, even now as a Mummy!

If you want some real pampering when pregnant using natural and organic skin care products, so as not to absorb any dangerous chemicals through the layers of your skin, try the brilliant range of Trilogy Skincare products.

Trilogy is a New Zealand company who use organic Rosehip Oil, renowned for it’s restorative and anti-ageing properties. Trilogy do not test on animals.

As an added bonus, I was lucky enough to get through my pregnancy without one single stretch mark to show for the 9 months (+2 weeks!) of my gradually blooming tummy.

I put my luck down to the regular use of Trilogy products, gently rubbing Trilogy 100% Natural Certified Organic Rosehip Oil over my expanding belly, which helped to prevent stretch marks and was a wonderful way to bond with my growing baby as I talked to her at the same time (she thought it was marvelous having a gentle daily massage and rewarded me with plenty of little kicks and punches)!

I like to use the Everything Balm as a body moisturiser, it smells divine!

I still use Trilogy 100% Natural Certified Organic Rosehip Oil as a facial oil during winter to keep my skin moisturised and the Trilogy Everything Balm is multi-purpose so worth carrying around in your pram bag

I’m so glad I used Trilogy products when I was pregnant, I couldn’t have done without them – and they’re such great value.
